Heather Beach, DVM

Hello everyone — I am here because I have always been passionate about horses. As a kid, I used to get in trouble for always having horse doodles on my homework! I was the kid who went to the barn every day I could — I would walk or bike before I could drive, I did barn chores for extra riding time, I rode whatever I could whenever I could. My first horse show experience was in dressage and I developed a lifelong passion for the sport at an early age. I showed in the jumpers when I was a bit older and I also got a taste of eventing … always my passion for the horse kept me hooked!

I took a bit of a break from competing to attend veterinary school and start my career. I graduated from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007 and then completed a one year rotating internship. After working for several years in general practice, I changed the focus of my practice to sports medicine and performance horses. During this time I was able to rekindle my passion for riding and competing with the help of my partner, JJ Lavieri of JJ Lavieri Stables . I founded HB Equine Services in 2022 with the goal of merging my passions for riding and competing horses with my passion for providing top quality sports medicine diagnostics and treatments.

JJ and I are horse lovers. He refers to me as the “First Lady” of the barn. I can be found with JJ at many horse shows setting jumps, walking courses, and grooming horses. I love helping people who love their horses. Whether your horse is an active competitor on the A circuit or you are a horse lover that rides at home mostly, if you are worried that your horse has a soundness or performance issue I would love to help you. As a horse lover and a rider myself, I hope my experience can help people have happier more fulfilling relationships with their horses!
